Across the United States, millions of families struggle daily to put food on the table. In recent years, data shows that nearly 14 percent of U.S. households have experienced food insecurity. Hunger is not a distant issue—it affects our neighbors, our schools and our communities.
At Sempra Infrastructure, we are committed to helping address this challenge by supporting access to affordable, nutritious food in the communities where we live and work. In 2025 we invested more than $650,000 in community grants and partnership funding to strengthen food access for those in need through strategic collaboration with local food banks and nonprofit organizations.
Power of Connections
Sempra Infrastructure is committed to addressing hunger in our communities by delivering both immediate relief and sustainable, long-term solutions. Through our efforts, we’ve reached more than 15,000 individuals across Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana.
Our impact was amplified through close collaboration with local organizations that share our mission including:
- Southeast Texas Food Bank, which provided 700 students from Port Arthur ISD and Sabine Pass ISD with weekend meal packs containing four meals, two snacks and two drinks every Friday during the 2025-2026 school year.
- Care Help of Sulphur, which opened Hackberry, Louisiana’s first food pantry in September 2025, and is currently serving more than 150 residents monthly.
- Willie Carter Community Outreach Center, which delivered approximately 200 meals for 18 weeks starting in August 2025, for a total of 3,600 meals.
In addition to supporting these long-term initiatives with local organizations, we were able to take immediate action during the federal government shutdown and temporary suspension of SNAP benefits. To support rapidly depleting food pantries, we contributed $100,000 to Care Help of Sulphur and $250,000 to the Southeast Texas Food Bank.
Together, these initiatives ensure thousands of meals reach those who need them most while creating stronger support systems for local families. Jody Farnum from Care Help of Sulphur explains that “this remarkable investment will amplify Care Help’s purchasing power, enabling them to provide better nutritional food options for those whose financial constraints limit their access.”

Our People in Action
The fight against hunger is a cause that is also embraced by employees across Sempra Infrastructure. Each September, our teams come together to make a tangible difference during Hunger Action Month. In 2025, employee-driven campaigns in the United States collected:
- More than 600 jars of peanut butter and jelly for Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas
- 222 pounds of pancake mix and syrup for the Sulphur Christian Community Coalition
- Approximately 125 boxes of cereal for the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank
- Roughly 150 boxes of cereal for Second Servings of Houston
Beyond food donations, employees collectively volunteered over 200 hours to support these organizations, turning generosity into action.
“I’m motivated to invest in food insecurity initiatives because no one can reach their full potential on an empty stomach. By ensuring our neighbors are fed, we strengthen families and build a healthier community,” said Jeanne Wilson, community outreach advisor for Southwest Louisiana at Sempra Infrastructure.

Continuing the Commitment
These efforts and investments reflect our broader commitment to making a meaningful impact in our communities by addressing local needs, strengthening community connections and promoting long-term solutions.
Looking towards 2026, we know there is still more work to be done. We invite local organizations dedicated to creating positive change to collaborate with us through our community grant, partnership and sponsorship programs. These funding opportunities support community-driven initiatives that align with our core values: do the right thing, champion people and shape the future.
As our community and social performance manager, Reesha Edwards, stressed, “Food insecurity remains a critical concern, and in 2026, we will continue engaging with organizations working to address this issue.”
