The Sempra Energy Foundation has awarded 12 grants to nonprofit organizations in Southeast Texas to support the increased volume of services provided to vulnerable individuals and families affected by COVID-19. Samaritan Counseling Center of Southeast Texas, one of our community partners in Port Arthur, is one of the recipients.
Samaritan Counseling of Southeast Texas is a non-profit counseling organization that promotes the healing and growth of people and the reconciliation of couples, families and organizations.
“We are grateful for the generosity shown by the Sempra Energy Foundation during these uncertain times,” said Brooke Landry, community coordinator for Samaritan Counseling Center of Southeast Texas. “Since the COVID-19 outbreak, we have trained seven clinicians in Teletherapy – helping our organization provide over 125 clinical sessions for clients struggling with fear and anxiety during this pandemic.”
The counseling center has also utilized the funds to purchase HIPAA compliant software to ensure the privacy of their clients.
At Port Arthur LNG, we are proud to champion Samaritan Counseling of Southeast Texas and their efforts to help keep our community healthy and safe.
