As an advocate for safe communities, Port Arthur LNG is proud to partner with Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas to support safety education assemblies for students in Port Arthur and Sabine Pass school districts.
Established locally in 1981, Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas is a nonprofit, community-based collaborative that was formed by dedicated citizens, law enforcement, and the media to provide a safe and anonymous way to report crimes. The organization receives the majority of its funding from business and individual partnerships, grants and general donations.
“Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas is greatly appreciative of our partnership with Port Arthur LNG and the company’s commitment to support local law enforcement,” said Stephanie Vanskike executive director for Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas. “Additionally, by funding our school campus outreach efforts, we can educate and reach thousands of children and their families to work alongside our officers to help make our communities a safer place to live, work and play.”
Since its inception, the program has received almost 25,000 tips resulting in 4,000 arrests and nearly 7,000 cases cleared. The program has also helped to recover over $7 million dollars in property and illegal drugs.
