Santa will be trading his traditional red suit for a blue one this week as part of the annual Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD) Blue Santa program. This season marks the program’s 28th year of serving hundreds of Port Arthur children, many of whom have special needs or have had an experience with the juvenile justice system.
Port Arthur LNG is proud to partner with emergency preparedness and safety leaders in Jefferson County communities to provide support for programs like Blue Santa that help aid underserved families. Our contribution helps underwrite the purchase of toys that will be safely distributed to local families at a drive-by distribution event.
“This event would not be possible without the charitable donations from local citizens and businesses, like Port Arthur LNG, who give so generously so that these children can experience the joy of the Christmas holiday,” said PAPD Detective, Mike Hebert.
Toys will be distributed on Thursday, December 17. Officers and volunteers will be bringing cheer and joy to countless children and their families just in time for the holidays.
“Operation Blue Santa exemplifies the heart with which our police officers serve our community,” said Melissa Londenberg, community outreach specialist for Sempra LNG. “They give so much of their time to this effort and to our children. As a local resident, I’m proud of my company’s continued partnership in a cause that brings so much joy to the families of Port Arthur and Sabine Pass.”
