Each March, we commemorate Women’s History Month – a month dedicated to honoring women’s social, economic, cultural and political achievements.
At Sempra Infrastructure, we celebrate women daily by fostering a diverse and inclusive culture committed to living our values of doing the right thing, championing people and shaping the future.
Jeanne Trahan, community outreach specialist, shares how she lives our values every day and what honoring Women’s History Month means to her.
Tell us about yourself and your role. How long have you been with Sempra Infrastructure or the Sempra family of companies?
I have been a Hackberry, Louisiana, resident for 25 years and continue to be part of the community today. I graduated from McNeese State University with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication with a concentration in public relations and have been part of the Sempra Infrastructure team since April 2021. In my role, I represent the company in Southwest Louisiana, building and fostering positive relationships while advancing our regional projects.
What do you enjoy most about your role? What do you find most rewarding?
I love that my role is dynamic and diverse. I really enjoy that each week could be different, and I am up for the challenge! One day, I might be participating in a community cleanup or volunteering at a food drive event, and the next day, I may be hosting a tour at the Cameron LNG Technology Center for partners and customers.
It is rewarding to cultivate connections with community members, leaders, organizations, and stakeholders to understand their needs, concerns, and priorities and communicate Sempra Infrastructure’s initiatives, programs, and resources.
What are some unique opportunities your role has presented?
I encounter unique opportunities daily as a Sempra Infrastructure ambassador and community resident. I enjoy collaborating with community partners and nonprofit organizations, as well as people I have known all my life, to share knowledge, support, and coordinate efforts to address local issues and create positive change.
What makes you proud to be part of the Sempra Infrastructure team?
I am proud to be part of the Sempra Infrastructure team because our values align. My role allows me to champion people daily by supporting local businesses, donating to charities, and volunteering at events alongside like-minded individuals.
What does celebrating Women’s History Month mean to you?
Women’s History Month is significant to me as it is a time to celebrate women’s achievements, resilience, and diverse contributions around the world. It is also a time to acknowledge the progress made in breaking down barriers and creating a more equitable and supportive society for all individuals. It reminds us of the importance of honoring women’s voices, experiences, and accomplishments in every aspect of our lives.
