In an emotional recent ceremony, ECA LNG delivered the first 50 structural uniforms to the Ensenada Fire Department. The project plans to deliver a total of 206 new state-of-the-art uniforms.
Gaspar Chávez, director of Ensenada´s Fire Department, mentioned during the ceremony that their fire fighters had not received new uniforms in nine and a half years, and that the ones they had weren´t useful and represented a high risk for them.
“Each uniform was individually tailored for the local firefighters who will be wearing them,” said Álvaro Muñoz, director for ECA’s regas facility. “We are very proud and excited that with these uniforms, our fire fighters will be better prepared to carry out the life-saving work safely.”
The incredible work carried out by the Ensenada fire fighters, both in fighting forest fires and responding to accidents that occur in urban areas, were highlighted during the event. Many of these local heroes were in attendance and accompanied by their relatives.
The donation is part of ECA LNG’s Social Investment Program, which contributes to important social and environmental projects that benefit the community. Projects in this program also include the renovation of public infrastructure including parks, streets, service facilities and public safety.
